Description
Assam Black Tea — The Slow Unfurling of a Golden-Tipped Morning
Loosen a spoonful of these long, twisted leaves into your pot and watch them wake. Hand-picked from the organic gardens of Assam during the prized Second Flush (May–June), each whole SFTGFOP1 leaf carries golden tips and the deep, malty soul of the valley. This is tea slowed down: no bag, no hurry, just the quiet unfurling of leaf in water and the promise of your unhurried TeaQure moment.
Tasting Notes
The dry leaf breathes warm malt and toasted honey. In the cup it pours a glowing amber-copper, brisk and full-bodied, with a rich malty core, a whisper of ripe stone fruit and a smooth, lingering finish that holds its own with a splash of milk. Every steep feels rounded and satisfying.
Why You will Love It
- High-grade SFTGFOP1 whole leaves with beautiful golden tips, grown in certified organic gardens of Assam.
- Loose leaf gives you complete control — measure lighter for a gentle cup or fuller for a robust brew.
- Traditionally valued as a warming, grounding way to begin the morning or lift the afternoon.
- Naturally rich and malty, so it stands beautifully on its own or with milk and a little sweetness.
- Whole leaves invite a second, slower steep, rewarding a mindful, unrushed ritual.
Caffeine
As a true black tea, this Assam is moderate-to-high in caffeine — a naturally energising cup, best enjoyed through the morning and early afternoon.
How to Brew
- Measure 1 tsp (about 2 g) of loose leaf per 200 ml cup, adjusting to your preferred strength.
- Heat fresh water to a full 95–100°C (just off the boil).
- Pour over the leaves and let them unfurl for 3–4 minutes.
- Strain the whole leaves and enjoy plain, or add milk and a touch of sweetness as you like.
When to Enjoy
This is your first-light cup — brew it as the kettle sings and the house is still quiet. Pair it with buttered toast, a warm slice of cake or classic biscuits for a comforting, grounding start to the day.

Quick Questions
Can I re-steep the leaves, and how many cups will I get?
Yes — these whole SFTGFOP1 leaves are generous. A second, slightly longer steep draws out a softer, mellow cup, and 100 g yields roughly 50 cups.
Does it contain milk or added flavours?
No. It is simply pure organic Assam black tea leaves, with no added flavours. Milk is entirely your choice at the cup.
Is it good iced?
Wonderfully. Brew a stronger batch, cool it, pour over ice and finish with lemon or mint for a bright, malty iced tea.
